A bold makeover transforms an Edina kitchen from vanilla to colourful. Designers will share knowledge about space planning and products. Guest cooks will prepare food samples and recipes from noon to two p.m.

The muse : The bold orange-red ( Poliform's Mandarino ) takes its cue from China. And Sing are locals of Hong Kong, where the hue is widely used, and it takes a starring role in some of their Eastern design. Each time I come into the kitchen, it makes me ecstatic, she revealed. Streamlined : Designer Nelsen reconfigured the cabinet layout for maximum potency, gaining two linear feet of cabinet space, which she used to make an appliance garage. One of her [S.K.'s] issues was that she did not like confusion and appliances out, Nelsen recounted. She also maximised storage space with Poliform's Wizardry Corner, a hinged cupboard insert that's like an updated version of a Lazy Susan.
The new design is cleaner and less cluttered. And the new Miele appliances fit so seamlessly into their setting that they occasionally fool the eye. Finishing touches : New lighting, gray quartzite ( engineered stone ) countertops from Capital Granite and a couple red accent pieces complete the kitchen's new look.
