Gorenje puts you in control of your appliances through iPhone.

The ECU company agreed a license agreement with Apple and added iPod docks with built-in speakers to its fridge line.

Not only will kitchen appliances you be ready to dance to your fave tunes as you cook, but thanks to an iPod-optimized net portal, you may be in a position to control other household appliances round the house without leaving the kitchen.

If you've got a net connection, you can access the portal from just about anywhere to do stuff like start the washing machine and control the cooker's settings. I like the concept of controlling household appliances from my iPhone, but what I actually would like to see is an application that alerts you when you forget to switch off any lights, appliances, or tells you it's time to get your garments out of the washer. Now that is seriously useful for folks like me. Does not judge or guarantee the accuracy of any Yahoo.
